Roaches
Some of the most common types of roaches found in Arizona are the German, American and Oriental cockroach. The German roach is found primarily in kitchens, bathrooms, or other areas where daily access to water is available. If sanitation is poor they can successfully expand their habitat to include all portions of a structure. The German roach is about 5/8 inch long, brown and has two dark longitudinal stripes behind the head. The American roach is the largest of the house infesting roaches, being up to 2-1/8 inches long. They have fully developed reddish brown wings and light markings on the thorax. This roach is commonly found in sewers and basements and particularly around pipes and drains. The Oriental roach prefers cool temperatures. The male has fully developed brownish-black wings covering about 75% of the abdomen, but they don't fly. They are attracted to wet and shady perimeter areas. Roaches are very easily controlled if one has the proper chemical and knowledge.
