Mosquitoes
A female mosquito uses the protein in blood to develop her eggs. Males feed on nectar and plant juices but not blood. The diseases mosquitoes spread kill millions of people annually. Mosquito eggs require water to hatch, and larvae and pupae both need an aquatic environment.
