Crickets
Crickets feed on plants but are not strictly vegetarians. Many types of crickets may cause damage to paper or fabrics when large numbers are present. House crickets are a light yellowish brown color with three darker brown bands on the head. They are attracted to warmth and so are often present near fireplaces, kitchens, furnaces, water heaters or in basements. They hide in cracks, behind baseboards, and may burrow into the mortar of walls. Field crickets are usually black in color. They feed on a variety of crops and also weakened crickets and other insects. They may attack and damage fabrics.
